Dissolution of hydrogen in metals and casting alloys

Thermodynamic calculations have shown that hydrogen from atmospheric water vapors can penetrate aluminum, iron and copper, especially into their melts. Hydrogen atoms in these metals are free adsorbed states. Strong dense oxide films on the surfaces of copper significantly reduce solubility metals. Copper nanocrystals more actively adsorb atomic than aluminum nanocrystals. This is one main reasons for weak large desorption crystallization compared to copper.
